Plastivan Celebrates 60 Years of Innovation and Growth
This year, Plastivan celebrates a special milestone: 60 years of entrepreneurship, innovation, and international growth. What began in 1966 as a local company in Wielsbeke has grown into a leading European player in PVC and WPC building products.
The foundations of Plastivan were laid in 1966 with the establishment of Plastivan NV. Expansion soon followed, along with a relocation to Oostrozebeke, where the company further developed its production capacity. In the 1990s, Plastivan firmly embraced internationalization, opening branches in France, Poland, and the United Kingdom, complemented by strategic acquisitions and new production sites, including the factory in Ingelmunster.
Innovation has been the common thread throughout Plastivan’s story for six decades. In 2006, the company introduced wood composite (WPC) and later invested in the in-house production of both WPC and PVC compounds, ensuring maximum quality control and flexibility. In 2020, another major technological step was taken with the launch of a digital printing line for façade systems.
In recent years, Plastivan has continued to expand its product range. With the introduction of aluminum fencing systems (2021) and printed PVC fencing (2023), the company responds to the growing demand for sustainable, low-maintenance, and aesthetically appealing building solutions.
A new chapter began in 2023 with the acquisition by Fedrus International, making Plastivan part of a strong international group and further securing its future.
“60 years of Plastivan stands for craftsmanship, courage, and continuous innovation,” the company states. “Thanks to the trust of customers, partners, and employees, we continue to build sustainable solutions for tomorrow.”
With this rich history, Plastivan looks confidently to the future, ready to keep investing in innovation, quality, and international growth in the decades ahead.
